Jun 11 2009: For those of you who don't know, I sometimes publish anagrams under the "Squidrock.com" moniker over at The Anagram Times (for example, here and here). Its a cool website in general, worth checking out (or you can follow it on Twitter).

Anyway, the main thing I wanted to post is this cool interview from another anagramming musician. Perhaps you'll find it interesting (includes a great anagram-poem).

Squid-wise, nothing big to report. Larry and I are both churning out some new material, and we're all getting ready for the Athfest show. Hope to see everybody there, catch you later.

May 19 2009: Firstly, important announcement: Doctor Squid will be performing at Athfest. Specifically, we're playing Tasty World on Saturday, June 27th. It's going to be a big show in a lot of ways (probably Mike's last, probably our last at Tasty World since its getting scrapped, and its Athfest), so you definitley wanna be there.

The wedding was a lot of fun. Crazily fun, in fact. All the best to Adam and Rebecca. We took some video, but the tape ran out before we got to the really good stuff (that is, the songs with 'shout' in the title). Oh well.

May 7 2009: So on the neat-o front, Doctor Squid was reviewed at powerpopaholic.com, check it out. We also got a very enthusiastic review of our Legion Field show over at Echoreyn of Athens. While I'm here I suppose I can go ahead and do a general update of our status.

Lately we've been busy preparing for Adam and Rebecca's wedding (excitement!), which I'm afraid I can't invite you all to, but for those of you who will be there anyway, its looking to be a very fun gig for us. We'll probably be taking it somewhat light over the summer to focus on writing new material and just what we're gonna do when Mike has to go away to the real world(ish... art major real world), but hopefully we'll still get to play a few gigs before he splits (working on something during AthFest, stay tuned).

We've got a couple of new songs we've been playing recently, some new demos might be in order over the summer. If you'd like to receive them, make sure you're signed up for the squidlist (the little box in the upper right) and you won't miss a thing. That's all for now, later squiddies.

Mar 23 2009: The upcoming Habifest show is a bit of a strange one, so I thought I'd leave a little info about it. Basically, we're providing musical entertainment for some Habitat for Humanity activists who are doing a solidarity-with-the-impoverished demonstration involving building little cardboard box homes to live in. In other words, we'll be playing away on stage while a bunch of folks mess around building cardboard living spaces.

That said, anyone who wants to come listen is more than welcome, especially since it will make it less awkward for us. Plus its a nifty function, so you could come out and show your support for Habitat For Humanity, in a less 'live in a box' kind of way.

Mar 15 2009: Hello squiddies. I'd like to take a second to encourage you to check out The Warm Fuzzies (via the link in our show section on the right. 'Space Invaders' and 'Why Do Girls Wear Big Sunglasses' are both great places to start). They're a wonderful powerpop outfit we're playing with this Saturday at Nuci's Space. It's one of our best show line ups ever, the show starts early (8 o clock), its all ages, and only a $5 donation is needed to get in. Needless to say, you should definitley be there, its gonna be a great concert, and we may even work up a new song by then. See you there!
